Actress-singer Julie Anne San Jose’s cover of the iconic Parokya ni Edgar song “Bagsakan” got a nod of approval from no less than the rock band’s vocalist.
“Iba ka talaga! (You’re one of a kind!),” Chito Miranda wrote on the comments section of San Jose’s Instagram post.
San Jose uploaded a video of her cover of the very popular rap-rock song and many netizens agreed that she definitely slayed the rap parts.
For those who are not familiar with the song, “Bagsakan” has three rap parts, performed by no less than the late master rapper Francis Magalona, his heir apparent Gloc-9, and Miranda.
In the video, San Jose mindblowingly did all three parts and, judging by Miranda’s reaction, did it very well.
San Jose in an interview over GMA-7’s “24 Oras” admitted that it wasn’t easy to do the said cover.
Known as Asia’s Pop Sweetheart, this is not the first time that San Jose got a very positive response for her cover of a rap song.
In 2011, San Jose took on the challenge of doing a cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” which also got mostly positive feedback from netizens who saw the video on YouTube.
