Mayors in Metro Manila have recommended three scenarios that could be implemented once the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) ends on May 15.
In a report by GMA News, the Metro Manila Council has recommended three things the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases regarding the preventive measures being implemented by the government against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In an interview with Super Radyo dzBB, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said one of those is extending it until the end of May to increase the change of flattening the curve.
The second scenario they have recommended includes downgrading the quarantine in Metro Manila from ECQ to general community quarantine (GCQ).
The last one, Garcia said in the dzBB interview, is to combine EQC and GCQ in Metro Manila—wherein the areas with a higher number of cases will remain in ECQ while those with lower numbers can be downgraded to GCQ.
